GP Enhanced Access

Local GPs are working together to offer patients better access to appointments in General Practice in Buckinghamshire.  This is known as the ‘Enhanced Access’ service. This means that you can now book an appointment in a local practice:

  • Up until 8pm from Monday to Friday
  • On a Saturday (your practice can confirm where and when this is possible)
  • From 9am until 1pm on a Sunday (at one of three FedBucks Hubs across the county).

Registered patients with any GP Surgery within Chesham and Little Chalfont Primary Care Network will be able to access this service via their registered surgery. In our PCN these sites are:

  • Gladstone Surgery
  • Little Chalfont Surgery
  • New Surgery Chesham
  • Watermeadow Surgery
  • Fedbucks Hubs - located at Wycombe Hospital, Stoke Mandeville Hospital and Threeways Surgery in Stoke Poges (Sundays and Bank Holidays only)

All appointments need to be booked in advance.  Ring your GP surgery as normal and reception staff will be able to inform you of the dates, times, and locations available.  If you use this service, it is very likely that you will be seen by a clinician from another surgery and not your own GP.

Non-urgent advice: If you need help when we are closed

If you need medical help now, use NHS 111 online or Call 111.

NHS 111 online is for people aged 5 and over. Call 111 if you need help for a child under 5.

Call 999 in a medical or mental health emergency. This is when someone is seriously ill or injured and their life is at risk.

Non-urgent advice: Urgent Treatment Centre at Wycombe Hospital

The Urgent Treatment Centre (UTC) is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week and is based at:

Wycombe General Hospital

Queen Alexandra Road

High Wycombe

HP11 2TT

The MIIU is for minor injuries and illness which you cannot treat yourself or you think are unsuitable for a GP appointment. Following assessment, you may be advised to treat yourself, go to your pharmacist or see your GP if more appropriate.

If you are unsure always call NHS 111.
